π¨ Pokes Dominate Panthers: Wyoming Rolls to 31-7 Win
LARAMIE, Wyo. (Sept. 6, 2025) β The Cowboys flexed their muscle on both sides of the ball Saturday afternoon, pounding Northern Iowa 31-7 in front of a fired-up War Memorial Stadium crowd of 25,000-plus. Wyoming now sits at 2-0 heading into a massive clash with Utah next weekend.
Defense Sets the Tone π‘οΈ
This Cowboy defense is no joke. Wyoming forced two interceptions, swatted a punt, and held UNI to just 170 total yards β the stingiest performance since 2022. The Panthers barely cracked the ground game, finishing under 100 rushing yards for the second straight week.
Linebackers Enock Sibomana and Brayden Johnson, along with cornerback Tyrese Boss, each tallied six tackles. Ben Florentine made his presence felt inside with five stops and his third straight game with a sack.
Run Game Runs Wild π
The backfield looked unstoppable.
Terron Kellman: 87 yards on seven carries (12.4 YPC, career high).
Samuel βToteβ Harris: 61 yards and a TD (career-best).
Sam Scott: 58 yards and a score.
Anderson in Command π―
QB Kaden Anderson was sharp, completing 17 of 23 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns. His go-to targets were:
John Michael Gyllenborg: 5 catches, 65 yards, TD.
Chris Durr Jr.: 4 catches, 54 yards, TD.
Big Plays, Big Moments β‘
Scott opened the scoring with an 18-yard touchdown run.
Anderson hit Gyllenborg from six yards out to regain the lead.
Jaden DaCostaβs blocked punt set up a career-long 40-yard FG from Erik Sandvik before halftime.
Anderson found Durr for a 21-yard TD strike in the third quarter.
Harris iced it with a fourth-quarter rushing score.
