🏃♂️ Cross Country — Jacob White Leads Historic Day in South Bend
It was another milestone Friday for Wyoming distance running. Senior Jacob White continued his incredible fall season by breaking his own school record at the Joe Piane Invitational in South Bend, Indiana. White clocked a blistering 22:45.1 in the men’s 8K — good for third place overall in a deep national field.
He wasn’t alone in the spotlight. Ryker Holtzen (23:00.5) and Mathis Chavand (23:05.6) each set career bests, helping the Cowboys secure third place among 18 competing teams with 125 points.
On the women’s side, it was a banner day for progress — every Cowgirl crossed the finish line with a personal record. The team’s collective effort earned a 16th-place finish, continuing a strong stretch of fall performances for both squads.
🏈 Football — Homecoming Stripe Out Awaits as UNLV Comes to Town
There’s no better stage than Homecoming in Laramie, and Saturday night promises all the energy War Memorial Stadium can hold. The Cowboys open Mountain West play against an undefeated UNLV team at 5:00 p.m. MT, in a matchup that doubles as the program’s annual Stripe Out.
Fans are encouraged to pack the stands in alternating brown and gold, creating a wall of Wyoming pride under the lights.
A few storylines to follow:
Samuel “Tote” Harris, Wyoming’s dynamic freshman running back, was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week after rushing for 126 yards against Colorado.
The Cowboys’ special teams remain elite, leading the nation in blocked kicks, having recorded one in each of their first four games.

🏐 Volleyball — Cowgirls Rally from the Brink to Top Grand Canyon
What a comeback. The Cowgirls volleyball team pulled off a thrilling five-set victory over Grand Canyon University, storming back from a 0–2 deficit to win 3–2 on the road.
Wyoming sealed the match with a decisive 15–10 fifth set, fueled by a balanced and determined attack. Sarah Holcomb delivered 15 kills on a .714 hitting percentage, while Paige Lauterwasser chipped in 11 kills to help complete the turnaround.
With the win, the Cowgirls improved to 3–0 in Mountain West play, showing poise and grit that’s quickly becoming their identity.
