Cowboys Launch 2025–26 Season at Ram Masters Invitational
The University of Wyoming men’s golf team is set to begin a new chapter in its 2025–26 season this week in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Cowboys will compete in the Ram Masters Invitational on Thursday and Friday at Fort Collins Country Club.
The two-day event covers 54 holes, with players tackling 36 on opening day and finishing with 18 in the final round.
Head coach Joe Jensen emphasized growth over immediate results as his youthful roster gets underway.
“This group has been putting in the work and doing things the right way,” Jensen said. “With such a young team, there will be highs and lows. I don’t want to overload them with expectations too soon.”
Wyoming’s lineup blends a pair of familiar leaders with a wave of new talent. Returners Kristof Panke and Brody Leid anchor the squad, while five freshmen — Kellen Ball, Austin Barry, Brody Knowlton, Ryker Lind and Connor Scheich — make their debuts in brown and gold.
The Ram Masters has been a regular measuring stick for the program. Over the last five appearances, Wyoming has recorded three finishes inside the top five. The Cowboys’ most recent individual champion at the event was Dan Starzinski in 2018.
Seventeen programs are entered in this year’s field, including UC San Diego, Illinois State, Colorado, Denver, Weber State, UC Santa Barbara, Utah Tech, Sacramento State, Wichita State, Utah State, CSUN, Utah Valley, UC Davis, Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State and host Colorado State.
After wrapping up in Fort Collins, Wyoming will stay on the Front Range for another test at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, Sept. 20–22, at Eisenhower Golf Course in Colorado Springs
